Everything is About Race, and You’re a Racist

We want to thank our friends at the Daily Caller for this comprehensive study on why EVERYTHING is about race and racism.

This is it, America! It’s done. Like an incredibly intricate jigsaw puzzle with the last piece now firmly, finally in place, The Daily Caller’s alphabetical tour de force showing that absolutely everything is racist is now completed at last.

Here are 10 things beginning with the letters ‘W,’ ‘X,’ ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ that someone, somewhere has deemed racist.

Nancy Reagan Say No to Drugs YouTube screenshot CNNAmerica’s War on Drugs is racist because, according to the Drug Policy Alliance, “incarceration rates for African Americans and Latinos” are higher than the rate for white people even though black people, Latinos and white people use drugs at the same rates. “[A] law enforcement focus on urban areas, on lower-income communities and on communities of color” all play a role in the skin-color arrest and imprisonment discrepancies, the drug policy group claims.

San Diego Chargers v Washington RedskinsEverybody knows that a tiny — but committed! — faction of plaintiffs’ attorneys and some other Americans believe the name of the Washington Redskins is racist. Over the summer, Democratic House Rep. Betty McCollum sent a sternly-worded letter to the owner of the Minnesota Vikings declaring that the team was not welcome to play a scheduled NFL game on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Last month, notoriously sue-happy law professor John Banzhafformally petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to refuse to renew a radio station license owned by Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder because, the professor alleges, using the word “Redskins” is “hate speech,” no different than “N*gg*rs, Sp*cs, ‘W*tb*cks, Ch*nks,’ ”K*kes, C*nts, F*gs, etc.” (RELATED: Law Professor Files FCC Petition Calling Redskins ‘HATE SPEECH’)

Jesus Christ Creative Commons Jim PadgettIn December 2013, on a CNN show called “OutFront,” a book author named Tim Wise declared that white Jesus has caused centuries of genocide and slavery. “Here’s the reality. The image of a white Jesus has been used to justify enslavement, conquest, colonialism, the genocide of indigenous peoples. There are literally millions of human beings whose lives have been snuffed out by people who conquered under the banner of a white god,” Wise said, according to Fox News. Wise is the author of “White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son,” currently ranked #43,402 in books sales on Amazon.

50 plus percentDemocratic House Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina complained in February about a state law requiring political candidates to win over 50 percent of the vote in primary elections. The problem, 73-year-old Clyburn said, is that the result of this basic bedrock principle of American democracy can be a runoff election in which black candidates may struggle. “That 50-percent-plus-one rule was put in in order to negate or minimize opportunity for African-Americans to win the primary,” Clyburn proclaimed, according to The Watch Log.

US President Barack Obama visits a scienIt would be shocking if MSNBC blowhard Chris Matthews has not appeared in each segment of TheDC’s Alphabet of Racism. For this installment, Matthews bleated in unhinged, paranoid rage in August 2012 that Republicans were “playing that little ethnic card there” for suggesting that workfare instead of welfare would be sensible economic and social policy. “You start talking about work requirements, you know what game you are playing,” Matthews said, to a sad smattering of unseen cheers, while failing to allow the person to whom he was speaking get in a word edge-wise, according to MRC TV.

The NAACP nevertheless says the water is being shut off in a ‘discriminatory fashion.’”

Without their co-dependence, TheDC would likely be bereft of any racism to report for the lonely letter “X.” In a 2011 op-ed in The New York Times, Coates called “X-Men: First Class” racist because it is set in 1962 and it addresses racial issues but, like with so many Hollywood movies, “the most powerful adversaries of spectacular apartheid are a team of enlightened white dudes.”

Amish barn raising Getty ImagesOn July 13, 2012, President Barack Obama gave an election speech featuring the line “You didn’t build that,” which derided entrepreneurs and job-providing business owners. Republicans attacked the line, because it was absurd, stupid and represented a childlike egghead’s view of the real world. Naturally, then, Jonathan Chait suggested that Republican criticism of the silly line is racist. “The entire key to the rise of the Republican Party from the mid-sixties through the nineties was that white Americans came to see the Democrats as taking money from the hard-working white middle class and giving it to a lazy black underclass,” Chait explained to wealthy, white Democrats in the pages of New York magazine.

YouTube screenshot mbrown1982mbrownRemember when Republican House Rep. Joe Wilson from South Carolina yelled “You lie!” from the audience of Obama’s State of the Union Address in 2009? That was racist, too, opined Peggy Noonan in The New York Times. “[T]he frantic efforts to paint our first black president as the Other, a foreigner, socialist, fascist, Marxist, racist, Commie, Nazi; a cad who would snuff old people; a snake who would indoctrinate kids — had much to do with race,” Noonan frantically declared. In a comment that hasn’t aged particularly well, Noonan also said: “It may be President Obama’s very air of elegance and erudition that raises hackles in some.”

President Obama meets with the My Brother' Keeper Task ForceIn February 2012, Attorney General Eric Holder criticized zero tolerance rules because, he said, school administrators have used them to discipline students on the basis of race. “We’ve often seen that students of color, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and students with special needs are disproportionately likely to be suspended or expelled,” Holder said. “Outside the walls of the school, how many of these kids are coming from not just dysfunctional homes, but homes that are not supportive of their children?” he asked. Thus, presumably, bad behavior should be excused. (RELATED: Holder Targets School Discipline Practices: ‘Unacceptable,’ ‘Destructive’)
