BREAKING: No Indictment Likely in Michael Brown Shooting

It’s looking like officer Darren Wilson will not be indicted in Michael Brown’s shooting.  Information is starting to leak to the press from local sources and from the Department of Justice that indicate Wilson’s shooting was a good one.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has an exclusive report on the official autopsy of Michael Brown and it appears to be good news for officer Wilson.

A source with knowledge of Wilson’s statements said the officer had told investigators that Brown had struggled for Wilson’s pistol inside a police SUV and that Wilson had fired the gun twice, hitting Brown once in the hand. Later, Wilson fired additional shots that killed Brown and ignited a national controversy.

The St. Louis medical examiner, Dr. Michael Graham, who is not part of the official investigation, reviewed the autopsy report for the newspaper. He said Tuesday that it “does support that there was a significant altercation at the car.”

[…]

Dr. Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist in San Francisco, said the autopsy “supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has gunpowder particulate material in the wound.” She added, “If he has his hand near the gun when it goes off, he’s going for the officer’s gun.”

Sources told the Post-Dispatch that Brown’s blood had been found on Wilson’s gun.

Melinek also said the autopsy did not support witnesses who have claimed Brown was shot while running away from Wilson, or with his hands up.

She said Brown was facing Wilson when Brown took a shot to the forehead, two shots to the chest and a shot to the upper right arm. The wound to the top of Brown’s head would indicate he was falling forward or in a lunging position toward the shooter; the shot was instantly fatal.

Needless to say, forensic evidence like this isn’t likely to sway the crowd that will soon be burning down a large swath of Ferguson, MO and possibly some of St. Louis.  As was noted in the video, it appears the rationale for releasing the information now from both local authorities and the Department of Justice is the hope that cooler heads will prevail when the “no-bill” on Wilson is made public.  We’re not holding our breath.

Speaking to MailOnline, Sheryl Davis [Michael Brown’s aunt] believes Wilson committed murder. A grand jury is expected to decide by next month whether Wilson will be indicted in Brown’s death.

“It’s murder and they will feel and see the wrath of God’s vengeance come upon them in a mighty way, just as he promised all who do evil in his sight,” she said.

You can bet your bottom dollar that CNN and MSNBC will be on-scene with cameras and reporters to whip up the crowd.  Riots bump ratings and both of those losers need ratings.  TheRevs, Al & Jesse, will certainly be doing their part to foment a race riot or two.

We hope the Democratic Governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon, has the good sense to call out the National Guard in advance of the grand jury verdict.  But then again, he is a Democrat and he was calling for Wilson’s head in the days following the shooting.

We’re pretty sure this won’t end well, although maybe President Obama will speak up and earn at least a chip of his Nobel Pees Prize.  We can hear him now.  “If I’d had two sons, they’d look like Trayvon and Michael…”
