Case in point, the DACA Act – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act, put in place by Obama in 2012. The Act is viewed as an invitation to amnesty by illegal aliens who are sending children to the US in the hope they’ll get amnesty and then their relatives can come to the US through chain immigration. Remember who we’re talking about, these are uneducated, unskilled, unemployable people who are going to suck the welfare coffers dry in a heartbeat.
The Obama administration doesn’t see any connection between DACA and the current border surge.
On Thursday, the White House said that President Barack Obama would not rescind the temporary amnesty program he unilaterally enacted in 2012 because it does not entice more illegal immigrants to come to America.
“That’s not going to happen,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said…
We’ve got the White House’s opinion on the matter, let’s look at the facts. Pesky things, facts.
According to the Christian Science Monitor, “during the decade preceding fiscal year 2012, the federal government agency tasked with caring for unaccompanied minors who cross the border illegally dealt with an average of 7,000 to 8,000 cases a year.” In fiscal year 2011, there were 6,560, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Yet, as the Monitor noted, the following year, when Obama enacted DACA, “the number jumped to 13,625,” and at least 50,000 have entered illegally since October of last year. Officials estimate at least 150,000-160,000 more will try next year.
It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with DACA.
The White House is touting how the President is sending a clear message to Central Americans that they won’t receive amnesty. Of course, what Central Americans – and Mexicans – are paying attention to is not the President’s words, they are paying attention to his deeds. Everything about the President’s actions says “come on, you’re getting amnesty!” He’s continually reassuring the pro-amnesty crowd that he’ll pull out his MightyPen! and override the Congress. He’s ordered ICE to stop deportations. He’s put a “catch and release” policy in place for illegal aliens caught coming across the southern border. What does he expect illegals – or future illegals – to think?
We think all is moving right along according to plan. He’s overwhelming the Border Patrol’s ability to enforce the law – and he’s pointedly told them not to. He’s now going to overwhelm the welfare system and declare a new humanitarian crisis that will require more US taxpayer money and a formal broadening of welfare rules to allow illegals to legally collect welfare benefits.
Is this really a plot by the President to overwhelm our systems and cause a breakdown at the local level? Is this a Cloward-Pivin act by the President? We think it is, what do you think?
