Yes, I borrowed the title from Rush Limbaugh. In January 2007, the Heritage Index of Economic Freedom report had the United States ranked at 3. Only Hong Kong and Singapore were ranked higher than the United States. Our nation has dropped in every report since then to where in 2014 we are ranked at 12. It just feels like a deliberate plan by people who have always hated our country to do what needs doing to knock this country down. The list below indicates just how successful they have been in this endeavor.

  • 160 nations out of 178 ranked nations have less public debt as a % of GDP than the US
  • 148 nations have more fiscal freedom than the US as a measurement of limited government
  • 133 nations have better Gov’t spending than the US as a measurement of limited government
  • 94 nations have more monetary freeedom than the US as a measurement of regulatory efficiency
  • 44 nations have more investment freedom than the US as a measurement of open markets
  • 37 nations have more trade freedom than the US as a measurement of open markets
  • 28 nations have more financial freedom than the US as a measurement of open markets
  • 22 nations have more freedom from corruption than the US as a measurement of rule of law
  • 22 nations have more property rights than the US as a measurement of rule of law
  • 16 nations have more business freedom than the US as a measurement of regulatory efficiency
  • 11 nations rank higher than the US with their composite score for the ten measurements
  • No nation has more labor freedom than the US as a measurement of regulatory efficiency
  • No nation has a GDP better than the US
