Legislating Morality? Revenge Porn

0

A couple states are looking at prison and fines for posting naked pictures of your “partner.”

Revenge porn is when people post naked or compromising photos of their exes after bitter breakups.

Sounds like a good idea on the surface.

These naked pictures that show up on the internet hurt a lot of people. From embarrassment, job loss, relationships ruined, all in all not a pleasant thing to go thru.

But, is it really the government’s job to reign this in? What about personal responsibility? Or moral decency.

What these “laws” are proposing more or less is legislating morality, and there are obvious examples and arguments against doing that.

Abortion. In a word “wrong”, and when I say how dare you murder that baby, you tell me not to put my morals on you.

So you see I have a hard time taking this proposed law seriously. You can murder babies but you can’t post a pic of your girlfriend that was dumb enough to let you take a picture of her (this is where personal responsibility comes in). You can also make a strong argument that this violates someone’s 1st Amendment right.

revenge pornLet me digress. For the guys out there that post private personal pics of their ex lovers, you are scum, you have the character of a politician and if any of these girls have big brothers I hope they slap you around a bit.

Girls, unless you are a porn star, or a Holly-weird actress… Don’t let guys take pictures of you naked… DUH!
